ABOUT SEGA Location and Facilities The school will be situated 10 Kms. outside of Morogoro Town on the Dodoma Road. The plot is 1 Km. from the main road making it accessible, yet with enough distance from town to maintain privacy. The site includes good agricultural land, and has been approved by an engineer as being suitable for school development. Infrastructure will include: • classrooms (25 students per class) • student dormitories and matron quarters • administrative offices and teachers' room • attractive teachers’ accommodation (important to ensure staff retention) • library, computer laboratories with internet facility • physics, chemistry and biology science laboratories • arts building and external rondaval for music and drama • dining hall with a stage in one end (doubling as auditorium) • kitchen with bio-gas cooking facilities • dairyter harvesting • solar p for on-site milk production • infirmary • rainwaanels for lightin • constructed wetland for liquid waste removal Most structures will be double-storey to maximize cost efficiency, and aesthetic appeal Construction Timeline • 2007: 23 Acres of Land and Title Deed Acquired • 2008: o Initiate day school program for at-risk girls o Complete design for boarding school • 2009: Phase I construction of administrative buildings, classroom block and dormitories begins • 2010: o Boarding school opens for 50 girls in Form I o Phase II construction • 2011-12: Phase III construction Back to top
